Without economic incentives to save the rainforests most of its inhabitants will perish. Community prevents deforestation as people who make their living from the forest have a strong incentive to protect it. Jobs are an effective conservation strategy because steady income is a welcome alternative to dangerous poaching and deforestation behaviors. Valuation is built into the way we do our work and connection to community is our business model as it’s essential to living a quality life.
Wild Safe's mission is to enrich and support small-scale cacao farmers in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Sumatra and Borneo and Ecuador. Embraced by NGOs and government and industry partners, Wild Safe is creating the marketplace for local agricultural communities to co-exist with wildlife and protect ecosystems and protect the wild.
